Lecture by prof. Marcin Niemec from AGH Krakow, Poland
On the 28rd of June, prof. Marcin Niemiec from AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland gave a lecture on the topic “A key is the key of cybersecurity – a short journey via symmetric, asymmetric, neural, and quantum cryptography”. As part of the presentation, students had the opportunity to become familiar with advanced approaches of cryptography such as the application of neural networks for the correction of errors in the distribution of cryptographic keys. We thank prof. Niemiec for his visit, an exciting lecture and we look forward to further cooperation! Let’s stay connected!
NATO SPS G5894 – Quantum Cybersecurity in 5G Networks Workshop within ICAT 2022 conference
On the 17th of June 2022, Quantum Cybersecurity in 5G Networks QUANTUM5 Workshop was held at the 28th International Conference on Information, Communication and Automation Technologies, ICAT 2022, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of the workshop, the 5G network infrastructure of the VSB University in Ostrava was presented, as well as the installed quantum cryptographic equipment. Also, the results achieved so far as well as guidelines for future work were discussed. We are grateful for the visit of the VŠB team to Sarajevo and look forward to further cooperation. Visit to VSB Technical University of Ostrava
Students and academic staff of the Department of Telecommunications visited the VSB Technical University in Ostrava. Visits, presentations, working meetings and laboratory tours were conducted with the aim of attending workshops on quantum cryptography. During the visit, the QKD infrastructure installed in the VSB campus was demonstrated, as well as the VSB 5G network capacities, IoT devices and radio communication equipment. During the visit, we discussed the achieved results within the NATO SPS G5894 QUANTUM5 project and experiences in the field of cyber security in modern telecommunications networks. We thank VŠB Technical University in Ostrava for their hospitality and look forward to further cooperation. Let’s stay connected!
Visit to University of Brno
Students and academic staff of the Department of Telecommunications visited the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communications of the University of Brno, more precisely the Department of Telecommunications. Visits, presentations, working meetings and laboratory tours were conducted to get acquainted with the 5G network and quantum infrastructures available in the Czech Republic. During the meeting, the results and experiences in the field of cyber-security and the possibilities of joint research activities in the field of telecommunications were discussed. Participants also discussed the improvement of existing cooperation between universities, including the possibility of establishing mobility/exchange projects for students and academic staff. We thank the University of Brno for their hospitality and look forward to future projects and cooperation. Let’s stay connected!
